Your IP Addresses

AddressValueWhat it is
Public IPv4 Looking up… The address websites see. Your router shares it with every device on your network.
Public IPv6 Looking up… The newer, longer address type. Many home connections don't have one yet.
Private IP Checking… Your device's address inside your home network, handed out by your router (usually 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x or 172.16–31.x.x).

Find Your Private IP

Modern browsers hide your private IP from websites for privacy, so the quickest way is to ask your own computer:

SystemHow
Linuxhostname -I or ip -4 addr show (look for the line starting inet that isn't 127.0.0.1)
macOSipconfig getifaddr en0 (Wi-Fi on most Macs), or System Settings → Network → your connection → Details
Windowsipconfig in Command Prompt or PowerShell, then read "IPv4 Address"
AndroidSettings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi → tap your network (menu names vary by phone)
iPhone / iPadSettings → Wi-Fi → tap the (i) next to your network → IP Address

To see every device on your network, open your router's admin page (often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) and look for "Connected devices" or "DHCP clients".

Subnet Calculator

Type an IPv4 address and pick a mask, or type it in CIDR form like 192.168.1.10/24 or 10.0.0.5 255.255.252.0.
